Panreac launches QuEChERS

ghs_portada

The QuEChERS method for pesticides analysis in fruit and vegetables has become increasingly used over the past few years.

It offers a fast and simple alternative to traditional liquid-liquid and solid-phase extractions. As its name suggests, it offers the following advantages: Quick: up to 8 samples can be prepared in half an hour; Easy: minimal sample handling, thereby reducing the risk of errors; Cheap: solvent and reagent costs and handling times are all reduced; Effective: good recoveries for a wide range of pesticides; Rugged: good reproducibility and easy to use and Safe: consumption and exposure to organic solvents are reduced.

The procedure involves two simple steps: the sample homogenization and extraction by partition using an organic solvent and a mixture of salts step (boxes with 50 tubs of 50 ml containing pre-weighed amounts of salts and absorbents) and the clean up by dispersive solid-phase extraction step (boxes with 50 tubs of 15 ml containing pre-weighed amounts of salts and absorbents).

The original method has been modified to ensure a more efficient extraction and to extend the wide range of pesticides which can be analysed.

There are currently two reference analytical methods, namely the EN and AOAC methods. Panreac supplies tubes containing the reagent mixtures required to perform the extraction and dispersion steps for both the EN 15662:2008 and AOAC 2007.01 methods.

Main advantages:

  • Ready-to-use tubes containing pre-weighed amounts of salts and absorbents according to standards (EN, AOAC).

  • Prepared with Panreac quality products.
